DISCOVER THE OPERA

"Discover the Opera" is a Music and Performing Arts focused development program for High School aged students that supports and advocates for the Arts as an integral part of preparing students for success and prosperity in life. 

The program leverages Opera’s rich history of storytelling, sharing cultural heritage, and as an outlet for commentary on contemporary social issues through a historical lens to enhance emotional intelligence, critical thinking, encourage self-expression, and develop social and public speaking skills.

LEARNING-SHIP PROGRAM

We also provide opportunities for high school aged students (14-17) to explore careers in the arts beyond performing through hands-on learning-ships. The program is designed to help students make better informed decisions as they pursue post-secondary education. Participants real-life skills while providing value-added assistance as they explore potential careers in:
  • Arts business management,
  • International business, 
  • Finance & fundraising, 
  • Design, 
  • Producing & directing,  
  • Audio & video engineering, 
  • Marketing, 
  • History, and 
  • Information technology.  
​Learning-ships are unpaid but students can earn class credit or community service hours if applicable.
